Helping my neighbor with new backyard chickens after a tragedy, plus checking on my budgies in the garden aviary.

My neighbor recently lost his flock to a marten, so we surprised him with some new birds to help him get started again. It feels good to support a friend, especially when the stakes are so high for their safety.

Meanwhile, my hand-fed budgies are experiencing the garden aviary for the first time. I am closely watching their behavior to see if they maintain their trust or start acting more wild. We are also dealing with an intense heatwave that has been drying out the trees, but thankfully, some much-needed rain finally arrived. I will also take you through the night routine to see exactly where everyone sleeps.
