I already have a small flock of button quails, and honestly, it’s not that difficult to take them from the incubator and raise them. So far, everything is beyond my expectations. They are active, eating well, and growing nicely.
The only thing is cleaning — that’s a must every single day. They are messy little birds, no doubt about that.
Pingo is at a stage where he keeps picking at his feathers as soon as they grow back. That means a vet visit is needed as soon as possible. What the vet said was a relief, but at the same time, it’s still a concern, so I’ll be keeping a close eye on him.
And yes… when I came back to the room, one button quail somehow managed to escape and was running loose. Tiny bird, big adventure.
In the end, raising button quails is very rewarding, but it also comes with responsibility. Daily care, cleanliness, and watching their behavior closely really makes all the difference.
