For this video, I had to deal with an injury that left me unable to move my right hand for almost two weeks. For someone with a garden full of animals, that’s about the worst timing possible.
At the same time, I was worried about the cockatiel baby that I thought had lost an eye because of a budgie attack. But after looking through my older footage, it seems that wasn’t the case after all. The chick was most likely born without an eye.
On top of that, our country is going through an extreme heat wave. With temperatures climbing higher every day, keeping the birds comfortable and safe became a priority. From adding more shade to providing extra water sources, I needed to make sure the aviaries could handle the summer heat.
And finally, after months of concern, I decided to take action against the cats that have been gathering around the aviary.
