I have 2 female budgies, both chirp and happy and love each other. They have a flight cage and they have a hanging net with a bunch of toys. They come out into my room everyday. I noticed one of my budgies has no tail feathers. I grabbed her to look for any trauma or bleeding, and there’s nothing. She had them yesterday, so I have no idea what happened. I could only find 1 tail feather in my whole room, and it has black on the underside by the base. What does this mean? I’m not even sure if its hers, it may be her sisters, someone help! They are on a pellet diet and eat well as well haslots of enrichment. I don’t know if it’s something I did, I just want answers.
Tail feathers will grow back no need to worry about it. Losing feathers is normal to Budgies during molt. If two female Budgies are aggressive they need more space or they need to be separated. If they are not fighting then no need to worry about it.
