I have a female budgie and I have a friend who has a male budgie. I brought her with me on a visit once and the budgies seemed to get along great, sharing food and preening. I loved to see my budgie like that and I was hoping to do it regularly. But I’m not sure if relations like this are healthy for the budgies, like if budgies should only have this kind of relations with budgies that live in the same house. Also worried about them breeding since I haven’t done the correct research yet to deal with that if it happens.

I don’t see the reason why should you do this, they are flock birds, and very social birds. Probably he will get very sad every time you leave his friend’s house. It is better to get a second Budgie.
