Materials for nesting

Hi I’m a 16 year old, wondering what materials I should put in my budgies nesting box thing which came with cage originally it had some straw like substance but once one of the budgies had laid an egg and after my brother squashed the egg 🥚 the budgies have taken the nesting stuff out
