My budgies mate and then lay single eggs also she doesn\’t lay in the nest box i have made for them. i have put the nest box in three different location but she sits on the perch and lays from the top, so it falls and breaks. this has been happening for like 6 months now. also the earlier budgie who passed away used to lay about 4 – 5 eggs at a time but this one only lays one egg at a time and that to has no clue where to lay the egg. Please advise how to teach her to use the nest box, we also put hay inside but even that doesn\’t work. she enters the nest box otherwise.
yes the nest box is dark and spacious enough. the budgie that passed away earlier used to lay her eggs in there only. Let me try cat litter and see how it goes. thanks for taking time out and responding.
